1 small onion, finely chopped

2 tbsp butter

2 tbsp all-purpose flour

1 ½ cups beef broth

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

For the Mashed Potatoes:

2 lbs (900g) potatoes, peeled and cubed

3 tbsp butter

½ cup milk (or cream for richness)

🍳 Instructions

Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15–20 minutes). Drain and mash with butter, milk, salt, and pepper. Set aside.

Cook the beef: In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until no longer pink. Drain excess fat.

Add onion and garlic, and cook for 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant.

Make the gravy: Push beef to the side of the pan. Add butter to melt, then sprinkle in flour. Stir for 1 minute to make a roux.
